Does anyone know of or own a Wynn archtop 5 string banjo? How is the quality and most importantly the sound?

Hey Dave, we have a few Wynns in the shop at Banjo Warehouse. We got them from a collector in Missouri. Let me check if they are archtops.

I had one long ago. I like it. It had a clear head and was very bright.

There is an archtop for sale with a clear head. Built in 1990. Thanks Ken.

Do you have any idea who manufactured his tone rings? I'm trying to find a sound bite of an archtop. I'm not looking for a bright sound but rather something warm and crisp, punchy. Banjo Warehouse may have a few Wynn banjos. Dave

I had one and sold it like a moron. Amazing banjos. He hand made everything on mine, even havested and cut the abolone inlays. All the metal hardware he made but mine had a prewar gibson archtop ring it in. Thats my main regret banjo that I have sold.
