I picked up a similar one for cheap a few months ago for parts. These are not desirable, generally speaking. Part of the problem with these later S.V. banjos is the tension hoops get brittle and crumble when you try and tighten the J hooks. I can't remember what the cast material is, but it is very weak. I don't believe there are replacement size tension hoops, so it's a losing battle. You can see the flaking on the outside of the tension hoop on yours )picture 2) so it's not structurally solid. BTW - Nice to see you're in Foxboro - that's my hometown and my folks still live there.
