I like this glue from StewMac.
I'm working on a Bacon "Belmont" banjo which is suffering from loose celluloid overlays on its resonator and peghead.
The resonator side-binding had fallen off entirely and the peghead veneer was being held on solely by the tuner nuts.Neck binding falling off, too.
This glue is very easy to use giving me time enough to center and clamp everything and cleans up very simply.
Great glue for this job.
I see a few years worth of repairs in this large tube of glue.It may cost me 1 or 2 dollars per repair.
I don't think I spent that much 2 years ago on this glue.
I've enjoyed StewMac products ever since I bought a solid flathead tonering and 3 ply tube and plate rim to upgrade my G-11 Gold Star archtop and my $550 "Vintage kit which came fretted and H&F inlaid.
When I ordered the kit I called StewMac and asked if they would send it with the extra bass response ring ($115) rather than their standard $90 flathead ring.
Kix said "Sure and we'll include the extra bass ring for no increase in the 550."
I've been a big fan of them ever since.
I like StewMac so much because I can shop there without knowing anything about luthery and trust their knowledge of the best solution to a problem.
Their knowledge has a value to me.
I learned how to attach binding, apply stain and finish a banjo by building their kit and the basics of swapping a rim and ring in my Gold Star.
I figure I get a good deal when I shop there for the lessons I learn.
