Because there were so many zither banjos made, which were eventually stored in attics/lofts or sheds, countless examples are in this condition.

The poor part is that even in excellent condition they are not worth much more.

I'm surprised the hide head is the one thing that appears to be in good shape. What size head would that be? Would it alone be worth the $50 cost (plus shipping)?

Yeah, I thought the inlays might be salvageable.  I think the head diameter is too small to be reused on a modern banjo.

It’s already been relieved of its original machine heads. In decent condition they would’ve been worth the £40 asking price.

Sad to see a Cammeyer banjo this decayed.
