Okay, all you doubters/nay-sayers, check this out:  https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=882698848228741&set=a.115492538282713

"A dash cam image captured by Gregory B. shows an overnight attack on the Kemnay Bridge by an alien ship. Even though the bridge was attacked by an unknown weapon, it was unscathed in early morning checks by CPKC Rail engineers. This shows how strong this bridge was originally built. It has withstood countless hits by semi-trucks and now an attack by aliens.

Gregory was about to drive under the bridge when he saw the alien ship descend and attack the bridge. “I never believed in alien life until now.” He was reported to have said. “I’m just happy I didn’t get probed, but then again it might not have been that terrible an experience!”

RCMP officials could not be reached for comment but released a statement advising that they cannot confirm nor deny the incident had occurred. A Brandon City Police officer was heard laughing nervously when questioned and quickly entered his vehicle and drove away.

If anyone has any further images or dashcam video of the incident they are requested to submit them for authenticity. When we get more details we will update the post."

C'mon Bill ... ^^ sounds like something a doubter/nay-sayer would come up with.   sad

Kemnay lies a bit west of Brandon MB, and the bridge is regionally (?) famous/infamous.   I don't know how many "hits" it's endured ... seems to go in cycles... every few weeks/months, and then a few months of [relative] inactivity (?).

I've heard that it requires an engineer's inspection/okay after each hit before rail traffic can resume.  IF that's true, it surely must be quite a few dollaars by now..... or maybe they have a guy on salary.

Edit: There's a plethora of lights, signs, a "turn-around" area, etc., etc, but the hits just keep on comin'.   I dunno if the fact that the front of a truck is coming up before the trailer tires have reached the low point has anything to do with it, or ????

Methinks they could’ve dug out the road bed deeper and saved headaches and money, but decided to put up signs & flashing lights instead, which leads me to believe some “important” dude lives on that road and doesn’t want noisy truck traffic going by constantly. As for flying saucer activity I’ll leave that for the fantasizing crowd…...

Why have I been noticing the "you say?" at the end of posts lately. Seems like this is fairly recent, you say??

“ Agreement ("As you say"): You use this to agree with someone or accept their plan.Current belief ("You say"): This present-tense phrase points to an opinion someone holds right now, unlike "you said" which looks at the past.Doubt ("So you say"): This means you repeat what the other person claims, but you do not fully believe it is true.”

Looks like "where there's a will, there's a way" comes to the rescue once again:

BREAKING NEWS: We have solved the low bridge issue for Kemnay Bridge. A new lift feature has been added to the bridge. This feature is triggered automatically when a truck breaks the field of the over height sensors and doesn’t stop or turn around in time.

The bridge will remain open for approximately 30 seconds and then automatically reset to its normal position. At present it has not been determined how this will affect rail traffic over the bridge. That will have to be addressed by CPKC Rail who were unavailable for comment.

Kemnay Mayor Fred Smith, who also owns Fred’s Custom Tree Cutting and Physiotherapy, told us he is extremely happy with the new addition to the bridge as it will free up emergency services to handle “real” emergencies for a change. “No more pork bits will be scattered across the highway. Although we will miss the free BBQ supplies that we picked up off the highway when a truck was ripped open. “

This upgrade will be studied for the next six months to see how effective it is. New signage will be installed shortly to acknowledge the new addition. “We are hopeful that this will eliminate the issues going forward” the mayor was heard to say as he drank his coffee at George’s Submarine and Dental Studio.
