Sullivan is the current iteration of the First Quality business, though Eric doesn't stock as much as in the old days. Neither does Stew-Mac, for that matter.

Gold Tone sells parts now. Presumably the same parts that go into their banjos. Good prices on finished resonators, rims and necks.

Also Balsam Banjo Works, Rickard, Elderly, and Greg Boyd.

There's a seller on eBay who sells parted-out Asian banjos Lots of RK, plus some Gold Tone and Rogue parts. So check there. Inventory changes regularly, so you never know what he's going to have. Recently had an RK-36 resonator in good condition for under $120.

Smakula Fretted Instruments has some parts.Great price on Gotoh tuners.

Don't overlook eBay and Amazon. Both are conduits to merchants selling new parts such as Golden Gate by Saga.  Plus lots of no-name Asian metric parts you probably don't want. However, Amazon is a good source for the same tailpieces that others sell and for economy versions of some. eBay, of course, is also a place to find used parts that might serve you well.

And with that in mind, Greg Boyd sells Prucha parts in the US.

And I believe most of the hardware sold by Sullivan is also Prucha.

So no need to order from Prucha and pay international shipping.

If you want to build an archtop banjo, I know where you can get a 50s-60s Gibson 4-hole archtop tone ring and a 1974 Janzegers rim that goes with it.

Why is Prucha the only one making parts ? Is it that expensive to make parts here in the good ole USA ? Competition is a good thing . I had Frank Neat build me a banjo last month. The hooks, nuts, ect. Had doubled since last year . Is it the price of tooling or what ? Why does Prucha seem to have a “ monopoly “ ? Stop rolling down hill like a snow ball headed for hell . Stand up for the flag . You get it ! Ain’t nothing no reason we don’t have High quality high standard parts made here .

I don't know if this is true or not - I have discussed this very same issue with some of my buddies and horse traders..... why good banjo parts aren't made in this country anymore. The reason - because people are tight as dick's hat band. IF you can buy a set of hooks and nuts from China or some other Asian producer for 50 bucks, WHY would someone pay 100 bucks for a set of hooks and nuts made in the US? Well, the first thought that might come to mind is BECAUSE the domestic hooks and nuts are simply much better in quality and will last longer and work better. The next answer that pops to mind is "THEY WON'T." OK - I have heard scuttle that there is in fact someone / company / corporation that is seriously looking at producing some decent quality banjo parts, made right here in the good ole' US of A..... we shall see. Folks, it's like this - True, the part or item made here in the US, can, and should be, a much better quality part, and even though it costs twice as much, it will last 3 times longer.... PLUS it supports our domestic production and jobs, and gets us to a point where we do not rely on imported items as much as we do. IF the guy working here makes 30 bucks and hour and WE ALL support that job and that worker - HE WILL turn right around and spend his money here also, so it all goes round and round. IF you spend that money on an import part or item, (supporting the job and worker in China, who will work for 2 bucks an hour) you simply are giving the Chinese more ammunition to eventually own and rule nearly everything in our country.

When Gregg and Will open their own made-in-USA banjo parts company I will gladly order from them.

Oh wait, didn't we have such a supplier in recent memory? American Made Banjo? AMB? How did it work out for them?

We should thank Zeus and the other potentates EVERY DAY for Prucha (AND Golden Gate, etc).

Realistically speaking, I wonder just how many flanges and tension hoops you could sell per year if you did produce high quality US made metal parts? Selling one here and there on the internet is more of a side gig so you'd need to find bulk purchasers and there's really not too many large banjo shops cranking out volume that don't already have their own suppliers.

I expect a dependable supplier of reasonably priced, quality parts could get a pretty good bit of Prucha business. From what I have heard, his supply can be quite erratic. Great quality but not a steady supplier. The builders I had talked with were happy with RK flanges until they went away. Try calling Greg Boyd and ask for availability on something not in stock.
