Hi All,

I'm heading to Grey Fox next week. It's branded as a bluegrass festival, and appears to have lots of jamming. From those who have been: will it be hard to find old time jams as well, or is it dominated by bluegrass? There seem to be old time performers scheduled on the stages (Rhiannon Giddens, Brad Kolodner, George Jackson, etc.) so I am hopeful. But, if I won't find OT jams, I may not try to wrestle my instrument through the airline system.

Many thanks in advance!

Replying to myself in case anyone in the future should search for this topic... the jams at Grey Fox were oriented toward bluegrass and folk. I might have been the only clawhammer player I saw in my part of the campground. But, folks were very welcoming. Helps to have some tunes you might like to sing, and I also would just show my list of tunes to neighbors and ask them which ones they knew when it was my turn to call. Most of the circles used the bluegrass mode of going around and giving everyone a break between verses. Lots of fun even though it was a departure from old time jams.

lawnboss one thing that caught me off guard was how many bluegrass tunes use the key of B. Might put a rail road spike on the 9th fret on one of mine specifically for those type of settings like you were in
