Written by Edward “Kid” Ory in 1921 it was first recorded by Louis Armstrong and his Hot Five in 1926. I’m playing my 1972 Yamaha GC 20D, arrangement by Steve Howell.

Thanks a bunch! Love the old tunes. ![]()
I really like your guitar version of Muskrat Ramble. It is a favorite of mine--so much so that I learned it in open G on banjo, played Travis style (sort of).

Super job, Lew! That works great on the banjo.
chuckv97 Thanks! Back about 30 years ago, I spent too much time learning old standards on open G guitar. I decided they all sounded, in the way I was picking them, about the same and so boring as a group. I quit doing these on guitar. Later I transferred that semi-Travis guitar picking to banjo and kept only this one. I've added Pallet On Your Floor which also works well. I use the 5th string some on Pallet.
Lew H Sounds real fine, Lew. I rarely hear anyone play a banjo like that other than Eddie Adcock. It works great.
