Our favorite fests were put on by The Adirondack Blue grass League in Corinth NY in the 70's which is NW of Saratoga Springs in the Adirondack mountains .
The beautiful small town of Corinth was founded in 1818 with its main business being logging.
A short distance from the fest runs the head waters of the Hudson river at the north end of town which includes a nice public swimming area to cool off in ,
I've included some pics of the 1976 & 77 line ups which include some of the best BG bands of that time including JD Crow & the New South shortly after their now famous Rounder 0044 album release in 1975 .
This was a family fest w/ no messing around as the tight security was done by the local loggers .
The only negative memory happened in the tent next to ours when a young boy choked to death on food . The parents apparently tried too long to resuscitate the boy w/o help in the tent . Just feet away was my wife , an RN w/ first aide training but no one knew till it was too late .
I'm sure some of the old timers here might remember the Corinth fests .

I guess Ricky and Jerry were with Boone Creek and JD had Glenn Lawson on vocals & guitar?
Great lineup.
I don’t have any old programs but Bluegrass Canada in Carlisle, Ontario had a fine festival for number of years. The 3 years I went they had Bill Monroe, Seldom Scene, Newgrass Revival, Doc Watson, Lester Flatt, Jim & Jesse, The Lilly Brothers, Country Gazette, Country Store, Mac Wiseman, Stony & Wilma Lee Cooper, The McLain Family, Dan Crary, Dixie Flyers, Cody, & many others.

Skaggs was there but I don't remember Douglas ? Remember Skaggs joking about eating a lobster the previous night & he couldn't sleep cause it kept pinching him . I taped a set , let a friend borrow it later , & it was gone !
My wife's and my two favorite festivals are Barrows, MB and Cowan, MB. Both v-e-r-y small [3 dozen or so trailers/RVs]; no admission although there is some low-key fundraising; very unpretentious relaxed atmosphere [i.e. nobody "playing their role"]; no "A" list, or "B" list [or truth be told any list] performers. The only drawback (?) we've encountered is no electricity, so our Generac 2200i gets pressed into service.
I was at Corinth in 77, 78, 79, 81, 82, 83
Boone Creek was from 1977.
All the others are from 1979.
Banjo Camp North (Groton, MA) was never a festival per se - but the end of camp concerts were some of the best I had ever seen. Got to rub elbows with some big wigs too. I regret never getting the chance to get a picture of Sonny.
See if you can pick out any other familiar faces !
