Enjoyed reading this thread.
I have always loved .45 long colt 'cause up where I mainly hunted deer out in PA, was all grown up in laurels and rhodos, and was gonna carry a carbine anyway and thus could use the same cartridge on my gun and my sidearm. Plus a .45 LC revolver with birdshot is really really good at snake eradication.
There is pretty much no way you can carry about a .45 long colt set of guns long, though, before you start to think about handloading. Because they are black powder legacy there is just so much room in those cases to get creative!
I like what you did with this project quite a bit! Oh, and I am new to forum. Cheers.

Todd I used to enjoy reading Ross Seyfried and he convinced me that a stout .45 Colt could take anything that walked on the North American continent. It could *probably* with prefect placement take anything alive anywhere but even Ross did not attempt a Cape Buffalo with a revolver! I will admit that he has a far greater fondness for recoil than I do.
Latest project..
