More About Me
Unaccountably drawn to the banjo at the beginning of this century, having struggled to make any headway on the guitar. Was lucky to get a work placement in the US that coincided with Banjo Camp North in 2001 & 2002. Took lessons from Greg Liszt (at his laboratory in MIT...). Back in the UK I busked, played with bands, taught, and generally proselytized banjo and bluegrass.
Currently teach Bluegrass Banjo (Beginner to Intermediate) at Lakes Music store in Penrith - am available to teach further afield, though travel expense may be an issue. I've had the benefit of learning from a lot of the greats of banjo playing at the workshops I attended in the US, and am flexible about teaching approach depending on the experience and aptitude of the player.
I'm particularly keen to encourage and develop people's aptitude to play and jam with other musicians, at any level.
