More About Me
I play clawhammer, single-string clawhammer (like Ralph Stanley's mama), Piedmont two-finger (like Wade Mainer and Etta Baker), thumb-led/index-finger brush (like Etta Baker, Maybelle Carter, and my father-in-law) commonly called the Southwest Virginia style, and thumb-led two-finger (like Dave "Stringbean" Akeman), index finger-led up-picking (like Pete Seeger and Doc Watson) and some other styles.
I also play Ralph Stanley three-finger style when asked.
Professionally, I play with the world's longest-lived bluegrass band, The WBT Briarhoppers, but I play upright bass since we have a banjo player who won a banjo award at Merlefest and, prior to her, we had Blue Grass Boy David Deese as our picker.
Skype is available via my wife's Mac.
