More About Me
I am offering 5 string banjo lessons in Scruggs, Melodic, Country, Clawhammer and Bluegrass styles playing. I have 12 years of playing and performing experience which includes playing with award winning bluegrass bands.
I started playing the banjo in 2nd year university. I tell people it's because I wanted to meet chicks! In fact, I've only met one chick from my banjo playing and it happens to be my lovely wife Trudy who has been supporting my banjo fixation for almost 10 years.
I have a couple of teaching styles. Commonly, I meet people that do not know much about the banjo but just want to learn about it. This kind of student we will do a lot of listening to learn about banjo music and how the banjo is used in bluegrass and contemporary country music. Other students know banjo and bluegrass music very well and just want to learn proper technique.
