More About Me
Played Irish tenor banjo for more years than I'll admit to. Taught it since 2005. With over 30 years experience as a school teacher I'm familiar with and understand the concerns of students and a have a variety of different teaching strategies to achieve success.
I have lots of performance experience having played (and still do) in folk bands and top flight ceili bands over the years.
Just to clarify: I teach Irish traditional music on tenor banjo tuned GDAE.
Lessons are on a one to one basis and are tailored to individual needs and last for one hour.
It doesn’t matter if you read music or not as I generally teach using tablature or music notation but aim to teach in the most part by ear. All material I provide can include tabs and music notation as reference points.
I welcome absolute beginners as well as players with some experience and of all ages.
