I have been playing banjo for 36 years, teaching and performing full-time for 20 years. I am still addicted to the banjo! I teach Bluegrass, Newgrass, Jazz, and two finger styles. I have been on staff at Banjo Camp North for 20 years now.
I stress the importance of clean playing, enjoying the process, great tone, proper hand position for each player (we are all different) and proper timing. I try to teach songs and arrangements that you are likely to come across when playing with others, and keep it fun at the same time! Zen Banjo!
I am a Music Store owner, Mockingbird Music Company, Inc. in Berlin Ma, and luthier as well. I build, repair, restore and sell many types of stringed instruments professionally, so proper instrument setup is also discussed.
