More About Me

I have been a teacher for a little over a year and a half in the East Bay Area on both banjo and bass. I have five years experience on the instrument and have participated in various group settings in different genres. I am the banjoist in my family band, Oak Grove (www.oakgrovebluegrass.com) and have been since the start of my banjo career. I also currently play jazz bass in three ensembles, as well as in one orchestra.

My teaching is mainly song based and slowly I work with students to know their instrument better. I focus on the student's needs if they have something in mind, such as a song they might like to learn, or improvisation over certain chord changes or in certain keys. I will adjust the way I teach to your specific needs.
