More About Me
I have been teaching guitar and banjo in Nashville since 1977. I excel at getting beginners up-and-running with good basic technique, including great timing, great tab-reading ability, and developing their ear. I have self-produced bluegrass play-a-along tracks that enable beginners and intermediate players to practice standards at slow and medium tempos as they develop their chops. Although I am primarily a guitar teacher, I can get a beginner going on solid Scruggs style as fast or faster than anybody around, I concentrate on basic skills that allow the student to be able to teach themselves fairly quickly. I can also help students develop improvisational skills. If you are already a pretty good picker, I would not be the best guy for you, but for a beginner or struggling intermediate level picker, I can definitely get the job done. I have tons of references also.
