More About Me

Hi There, my name is Erik Pearson,
I've taught banjo (and guitar) in the San Francisco area for a while now and am happy to hear from anyone out there in banjoland. I've played in bands such as the Crooked Jades, The Evie Ladin Band, the Pork Pies, Heidi Clare's Attagallop, and other old time combinations. One of my original banjo pieces from the Crooked Jades album "World's on Fire" was featured in Sean Penn's film "Into the Wild". In non banjo music I was a composition major at Oberlin Conservatory of Music (where I first started playing old time music) and have played in a great variety of bands throughout the years including accompanying internationally known storyteller Diane Ferlatte with live music behind her stories. Diane and I have performed at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN and many other places around the country.
