More About Me
I have taught introductory and intermediate clawhammer banjo at Kentucky Music Week since 2009. I am currently teaching at the Louisville Folk School (https://louisvillefolkschool.org/ ) and at Steilberg String Instruments. Due to the pandemic, Folk School 8-week group classes have moved online. The silver lining is that students as far away as Texas and Colorado are joining our classes. I use tab as a teaching tool but work to help the student hear the melody and find it on the fingerboard. I have also written articles and tabs for Banjo Newsletter.
I am retired with a background in teaching and training. I lead a monthly old-time jam and play at weekly contra dances.
