I am so glad that you stumbled upon my teaching profile, thanks for being here. I've been playing music for 20 years, teaching music for 12 and banjo since 2020. I play and teach full time. I am grateful to be able to share my music with audiences and students of all ages and backgrounds. I teach a diverse studio of banjo learners, 14-86. My students regularly attend local jam sessions and workshops.
My pedagogical approach will get you the skills needed to get playing with other musicians. My students learn tunes, licks, and solos while obtaining a fundamental understanding of music. This allows them to pursuit any style of banjo within any genre.
Outside of banjo I inhabit the glorious world of percussion. I received my formal education at the Hartt School of Music. I teach West African drumming for the Community Music of Springfield and The CREC Ana Grace Academy of the Arts. You will also find me giving percussion lessons throughout central Connecticut.
