More About Me

I'm a professional bluegrass banjo player with 34 years experience playing, 26 years teaching. I have been a part of the Los Angeles bluegrass scene since the late 70s and have played in numerous bands in California, bluegrass and otherwise. Currently, I play with the Dust Bowl Cavaliers and with the punk-bluegrass band Old Man Markley. I love playing and especially love teaching.

I teach privately out of my home in beautiful downtown Burbank, CA. I teach all levels and all ages. Beginners and general musical neophytes are particularly welcome. I'm a patient, dedicated and, above all, a FUN teacher. I always try to make every lesson as comfortable and enjoyable for the student as possible. Of course, I will make you work, too.
