HELLO from Newburyport, Massachusetts,

Thanks for looking here.

I am avid to help you play banjo, guitar, mandolin, and/or, maybe, to sing, too.

What is your interest?

Tunes? Accompaniment for your singing? Improved technique? Relaxation (a biggie)? Performing? Or getting past a stuck place? Just starting out? Had trouble learning in the past and want to try again?

Old time country music, Irish, British, Sea Songs, Gospel, Ragtime, Swing, Latin, Blues, Ballads, Your Own Compositions?

We will start where you are, musically. Together we will figure out what you want to get out of each lesson.

One of my goals is for you to be able to figure out how to make your own music. It's all by ear (you tape or video your lesson). Depending on your learning style we might use tablature pages too.

Another element we can weave into the learning is basic music theory so you can play with other musicians.

Your first lesson will be a valuable introduction to one another. It will be 60-90 minute introductory hour for only $17. Bring a friend and it's $10. each. Such a deal!

We meet in my living room in Newburyport.

Have you ever visited Newburyport? It's an easy ride from Boston, Lowell, Southern NH and Maine. We are an historic coastal tourist destination with lots of shops, sea captains' houses, restaurants. My wife and I are avid bird watchers and beach walkers at nearby Plum Island.

I adopted the Uncle Banjo moniker when I was in my 20's. People told me I looked too young to be an Uncle. Well ... I am still that funny guy, now gray haired, and I am still playing and singing.

Please, give me a call sometime today. Let's talk about your interests and get your questions answered.
