Hi my name is Ricky and I've sold my soul for the 5-string banjo. I'm so crazy about the thing that I traveled all the way from California in order to attend Berklee College of Music to pursue my goal of ultimate improvisational freedom. Although that goal may seem far away I have found several techniques that have cultivated my growth as a musician. I enjoy teaching and learning from all levels of students who play any instrument although my expertise lies in hard driving bluegrass banjo. I've been teaching people how to play ever since I picked up the banjo in 2006 and have been making my students custom lesson plans ever since. I also have been a middle school math tutor for the past 3 years. I play bluegrass, classical, a little jazz, lots of melodic fiddle tunes, but mostly I desire freedom of expression; so that's what comes out in my lessons.
