More About Me

Have taught and played professionally for 41 years. My students have ranged from ages 5 to 89 years of age. Lean more towards traditional bluegrass styles - Scruggs, Reno, Stanley, Crowe, and Emerson, and like to play fiddle tunes in the melodic style. Students learn to read music in tablature form, count time, and will learn to listen to bluegrass music critically. I am able to play songs slowly, phrase by phrase, and have many helpful teaching techniques which you will not find in the standard "learn to play banjo" books.
