Dan Monte Calvo has played bluegrass and progressive banjo in numerous bands since 1978. He recently returned from Europe on a solo tour, as well as tours with French bluegrass band, The Apple Trees, and the Transatlantic Bluegrass Band. Regionally, he has played with Woodland West and currently with Sourwood Stringband, a progressive jugband. Dan recently retired from the Woodinville Fire Department and now spends his time performing, teaching, and writing music for the banjo.
