My version of the John Salyer fiddle tune. You can hear a recording of him playing it at the Digital Library of Appalacia. I learned it from my fiddle buddy Steve Grover. aEAC#E

Excellent! I love this tune. Trying to learn it on fiddle and banjo. Yours is a great version to emulate. Thanks!

Just a terrific version. This is really a truly great crooked fiddle tune; most unusual given the timing in the B part. Although the fingerings and basic melody are relatively simple, I'll bet this tune has stumped a lot of people because of its "crookedness." Steve Arkin also has a version listed in his BanjoHangout music files, a couple of fiddlers playing it at Clifftop -- an on the spot recording (I think he mistitled it and called it "Don't Get Trouble in Your Mind," which I believe is actually an entirely different tune). Really a great tune, and this banjo version is excellent.
