Tenor banjo played left-handed (but righty-strung--'cotten-picking') using a flatpick. The banjo is tuned DGDG. I also play fiddle lefty, but restring it in true-lefty fashion.

I got the first play - how could that have happened? That was terrific, I really enjoyed it. I've heard this version before, but the Boatman that I'm used to is different (called *Dance, Boatman, Dance* here in Illinois, and it's a dead ringer for the one played by Allan Jabbour on the fiddle. The closest one to that here at BHO is this one:

I can see from the one at the above URL that they are different versions of the same tune, but when that one starts on the tin whistle, its start is like what I was first introduced to. Anyway, it's on my to-learn list (fiddle first, banjo eventually), and I'll have to make a study of yours, as it has a lot of spunk. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks, F.F! Glad ya like it. Yes, there seems to be several variants/versions of Boatman. Cousin-tunes. Blurred family trees.

Wow, I am impressed! That is some very high level playing. Great intonation and style!
