Interesting and inspiring! Great to hear some modern music played on 2 banjos. Did you compose the piece? Did you use "12tonreihen" for composing?

Hi--There's actually four tracks of banjos there; two of them are panned hard L-R and serve as the "foundation" lick.
I did compose the piece. What is 12tonreihen? A program to aid with 12 tone composition? I might check it out.

I enjoyed it very much. Simply great and progressive: you are showing new ways to this old instrument.

John - this is the third tunes of yours that I came to so I was getting used to your style at this point. Et tu, Earl had me smiling the whole time! - this one does sound like a modern classical piece, I would be interested to know what your composition process is. Sure is interesting and original sounding. thanks
Laurence

Laurence--I recorded this one in 2001, so details are a little hazy. However, I believe is used a tuning that went something like gDGC#D. The harmonics that punctuate the thematic roll alternative at frets 12 and 7. This combination is not physically challenging, but I thought it produced a fun bit of dissonance, so I kept it. The melody is played through Scruggs rolls in the same tuning alternating octaves. The descending whole tone roles are on two banjos double-tracked. There you go--and once again, I really like your rendition of Jessica. John
