Liberty. Clawhammer banjo. gCGCD tuned down to who knows where. Learned this from John Burke's book, Art Rosenbaum's recording and my father's playing. Played on an S.S. Stewart strung with nylgut. What a pretty tune.

Hey Hunter. A great tune played by a great player! Thank you for the tune. I have found some sheet music and an mp3 for the mandolin. I think I'll get to work on that one. Jesper

Hunter, this is the very first clawhammer tune I ever learned. The first time I heard Liberty I thought to myself "if I can just learn to play this one tune, I'll be happy". Of course we all know it doesn't work that way. After listening to your version, I've started reworking mine. Beautiful tune, thanks! Scott

Luckily there's always another tune to learn!

Always been one my favorite tunes, too, and you do it proper frontier justice.  I like the way you growl into that B part with that double hammer, or is it just a real slow slide.  Anyway, this is nice, subtle, contented picking.

Thanks Don. You're right, that's a long slow slide.

Hi Hunter....

nothing sounds better than an SS Stewart played in the hands of a master.  Amazing!
