John, sounds like that banjo has alot of power and sustain. What do you think about the GT head, I understand they are a fairly thick head? What about durability and stretch factor. Being in Hawaii I'd like to find a really strong and stable head ....so far no soap. Aloha, PH

The Gold tone pre-mounts I've had were fairly thick. The hides look like nice pieces of skin too. I think they are treated for humidity. Might be worth a try. That one fit on my Reiter with no problem.
