This would have been from '78 or early '79, so I'd have been playing around a year (since I started banjo in December of '77).

I think a lot of it had to do with me just playing and not worrying so much about having things "exactly" like the recording. I just tried to play something recognizable. Now, years later, that's pretty much all I still do - hopefully with a bit more finesse.
