From this recording I'm not hearing much in the way of annoying ringing. It's hard to hear these things on a recording unless it is very pronounced. Some of what you may hear is the natural overtones coming from the banjo. Metal stringsplayed with metal picks, the pot assembly is made of mostly metal parts, etc.
most of the time an excessive "tinging" will be caused by a bad string, the slot in the nut of bridge needing clearing out/recutting or a metal part of the banjo sympathetically vibrating (like tailpiece cover on a Presto). There are other things like truss rod vibrating in the neck slot but that's usually a rattle, not a tinging sound.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm chasing the sound when I received the banjo and I can say it's much different. It's hard to hear in the recording unless you are using headphones. I removed the tailpiece cover already but definitely going the check the bridge slot when I get home today.
