Thank you!
If you're interested, our newest album (2 CD) has just been released this year: Sweet Tidings Gosple Jam, "Grace For The Journey" (available for listening on YouTube [youtube.com/channel/UC6wzEhhof...cUM5JArqw], or for sale from most online outlets). On this album I'm playing a 1982 Gibson RB-800.

Thank you for sharing this. I was reading about setting up my Gibson BB and wound up hearing how good it can sound in the right hands.
Beautiful song and very well executed. I will be listening to more of your music

Really glad you enjoyed it. It's been 8 years since I posted that song here, and 13 years since we recorded it. The band is still playing together and active, since 2008. It's been a nice run.
I'll probably always keep and have special thoughts regarding the '25 BB Mastertone that I recorded that album with, but it isn't my main playing banjo anymore...
As mentioned in an earlier post, I my main playing banjo now is an '82 RB-800. Like the BB Mastertone, the RB-800 is a 2-piece flange Mastertone and it has a clear, sweet tone very similar to the BB, but it is also a cannon regarding volume. The RB-800 has huge power, so much so that I had to re-learn how to play it with sensitive volume. It compares very well with any pre-war 2-piece flange flat head banjo I've played or heard.
If you're interested, our "Sweet Tidings Gospel Jam" band's YouTube channel is at: youtube.com/channel/UC6wzEhhof...cUM5JArqw
All of our albums are available there to listen to.
