Another tune learned from Bob Carlin's CD Banging and Sawing. Bruce Molsky played with him on Indian on a Stump and says he learned it from the Balfa Brothers, five Cajun musicians (actual brothers) who played in the 40's and recorded in the 50's. They also played at the Olympics in Mexico in 1968. It's a pretty three-part tune with a hint of relinquishment. When the timber had been cut, what was left for Native Americans who had lived in the forests?
