Great tune, greatly played! It's not the same melody as Kitty Puss played by Kentucky fiddler Buddy Thomas, also the name of the album. But it's sure a good one. Where did you learn it from?

I'll have to look up Buddy Thomas. This is one of the tunes we Learned from Charlie Acuff. Charlie played this tune and another tune he also called Kitty Puss that is an entirely different melody that seems more related to Clyde Davenports puncheon camps. perhaps the tune Buddy Thomas played is the same as the other tune by this name Charlie played.

I wouldn't be surprised. Buddy has a great reputation as a fiddler, but died rather young. I've learned a few of his tunes -- very melodic and smooth. One of my favorites which he played is Sheeps and Hogs Walking Through the Pasture (taught to me by Adam Hurt, who plays so beautifully).
