For the old-time Tune of the Week, this comes from Texas fiddler Duck Wootan (1882 - 1964) whose grandson posts on Fiddle Hangout. The paper collar part was an education for me. Check it out: http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/301201. I was able to learn this quickly through the tab of Ken Torke. It's a light-hearted tune for this Saturday afternoon before company comes, but we're going to work the garden a bit, not dress up in anything with a fancy collar.

Nice interpretation Janet.

Thanks, Rick. It was quite different to have a simple tab this week that worked, as opposed to listening to a fiddle and arranging it for banjo. It turns out that the TOTW poster found this tune through Ken Torke's clawhammer tabs (he has over 300!) and researched it from there. The recordings, though, have all been with fiddle until this one I guess.

Love your playing, JanetB. Someone just asked me to play this tune, and I will tackle it once I awaken from my afternoon nap!

Sounds like you're retired, Judy. I'm newly retired and have experienced a couple of naps myself. Thanks for the kind words.

Janet Burton, it's so impossible. I admire your playstyle.
Sorry for the late reply, but musical education for me start with your song. Even after 4 years in the American college, I don't hesitate to listen to your work. I have a lot of desirable memories after that. By the way, some stories from this resource will be the education for me too. So we have similar stories in this way. Wish you good luck and try hard for a new musical masterpiece.
