Smooth picking, John, very, very nice. Lange made some neat, weird banjos. I had a Triple X tenor that got stolen in 1973, before I could finish the five string neck I was making for it. That neck ended up going on a Paramount tenor around 1994, and became my the first semi-fretless banjo.

Don - my Lange-made was an enexpensive, student grade banjo that had lots of mojo. It was lightweight, fun-to-play, and sounded pretty good. I carried it in the car on work trips just as a knock-around player. Wrote some of my favorite tunes on that banjo....
