Owen What’s Growin’
Owen, what’s growin’ in your garden?
Did you plant your seeds in April
Just before the snow?
When it melts again in May
On those warm and sunny days
That’s when you’ll get to watch ‘em grow
A watermelon would be nice this summer
Make sure the soil is loose
And leave them room to spread
Are you growing squash and beans
Carrots and some peas?
Water them before you go to bed
Chorus: Owen
What you growin’
Owen
My precious boy
Owen
Them sprouts are showin’
I hope they’ll always bring you joy
(instrumental break as per verse)
Owen, what’s growin’ in your garden?
The days are getting longer
And the sun is getting high
School will be out soon
Pickin’ radishes by June
There’s lots of weeds to pull up in July
In August the corn is sweet and tender
In September tomatoes
Ripen on the vine
Even after the garden slumbers
Onions and cucumbers
They all make that salad sure taste fine
(chorus)
