This is an audio track I composed upon hearing of the passing my older daughter's beloved cat, Hedwig... yesterday. She will be sending me her favorite photos for a vid/slide remembrance, and this will be the music. I won't be posting the vid... but would appreciate any thoughts on the soundtrack. Playin' my Vance tu-ba-phone with nylguts - D tuning.

Nice tune, Ken. Kinda melancholic without being a sackcloth & ashes lament. I'd like to hear this as a mandolin/banjo duet--were that an option.

Dunno BD... could ask MrHoney... but he's currently in-communicato? Anyway... I was hopin' for a 'reflective' tone. Guess the main thing is my daughter seems happier with this diversion... doing something "positive" as it were. Cheers, and thanks, as always, for your thoughts.

Ken, I do think you have captured the sound of happy and sad in this tune. Seems fitting to me and a nice tune.

"Reflective" was what I was trying to get at with my comments. Sometimes my thoughts elude my ability to convey them. Now I will go and write 100 times:"just write what you mean!"

Very nice. Sounds like a happy memory to me. That's what you want, I think. And is an exceptional accomplishment on its own, BTW.

Hey James... appreciate that cuz' i was hoping both those emotions would peacefully coexist in this little tune.
Yer hilarious BD... killing me man!
Yep Rick, overall bittersweet, but with a slight emphasis on the latter:)
Does anyone else think a mandolin counterpoint or "duet" would really enhance it?
Again... thanks for the feedback fellas!

I think a slide show video with your banjo would elicit the joyful, fond memories of her pet. I could imagine a cello banjo or low-pitched banjo giving some soothing bass tones....But I think it's already perfectly composed and will work wonders as.

I think your tune sounds fine as is. It is really fitting the situation.

Thank you Janet... i was hoping to have your input... and i can hear those "soothing bass tones" as well. But also glad to hear that with the photos, this works nicely "as is".
And thanks again to James for echoing that sentiment.
Now i look forward to receiving the photos... and putting it together for her.
