I'm learning that you can pick every note but timing and melody emphasis is crucial.

I'm slowing my playing down to find those crucial timing and melody things that made playing enjoyable. They were sacrificed for speed. It helps my emphasis if I bob my head or tap my foot with extra purpose for the notes that ask for punch. Great start there. Keep it up.
