My version of Down The River, Oh Yes. I heard this played by the late Bert Garvin of Flatwoods, KY on the Kentucky Old Time Banjo CD. Bert's original recording inspired my custom walnut banjo.

Hi Janet, thank you for the comment! I'm just pickin' the banjo here. I record using a program called GarageBand on the Apple Mac computer. I just added the string section to give the tune some depth. I really like the mellow style of picking. My recording here on the hangout of Tony Ellis' tune 'Dixie Banner' is in a similar style.
