Just heard this at a jam last night, and determined to learn it. Now I'm doubly inspired. Very fine picking, an especially ghostly tonality that only comes with the gourd.

Thanks Janet. Likewise, I've been liking your gourd recordings, and I've also enjoyed your clawhammer versions of those Doc Watson and David Grier numbers. I think we inhabit the same corner of the musical universe.

My newest lesson from Adam Hurt as of yesterday is to learn his version of this song. Now I'm doubly enthused. He says that you can download for free the original recording by Emmett Lundy. But this one is still tops!
