A beautiful Gospel that became a standard for N.O. Jazz Bands.

Kid Thomas, Sammy Penn N.O. jazz like this gets a lot stick but, you either love it or hate it. I've loved it since the mid Sixties when purely by chance I was given the Kid Thomas Living Legends LP on Riverside. I tend to think of Northern Europe for these style bands, good to know they were and hopefully still are in Italy. Best regards, Richard.

Hi Richard.
Many N.O. musicians like Polo Barnes, Alton Purnell, Emanuel Sayles and many others did tours in Italy during the 60s and the 70s. They often played and recorded with Northern Italian Bands. Trad Jazz is also beloved in Southern Italy, but IMO their band are more oriented towards Dixieland, that thay play very well, often with important american guest stars. But, I repeat, it's only my opinion.
Thank you so much for your nice and appropriate comment.
Marco
