Frank "Doc" White (1889-1974) was a fiddler and banjo player, and the original source for this tune. This version of "Doc White's Tune", played by Bob Lanham, is based on a version played by Andy Cahan. It is played on a 1923 Vega Tubaphone banjo.

Glad you like it! Sorry, no tab. It was aDGBE, but I don't play it that way anymore. After hearing an actual recording of Doc White playing it, I now play it out of Em tuning (gEGBE), and that is how it is recorded on my band's album. Also, Doc names it as "Cherry River Line" on the field recording, so that's how it's titled on our album. cdbaby.com/cd/streakoflean
