Most tunes sound better with time invested.. e.g, familiarity, right key, right groove, comfort zone, etc, etc.. this tune has been a difficult one for me to adjust to.. & if it wasn't for it being so damn catchy.. i would've given up on it long ago! :0)

Sounds like you are getting it pretty good. Some of my favourite versions play the down beat so it sounds just like a horse walking, maybe carrying Abe on his way out. Check out Tim Eriksen's version on 'Spine' to see what I mean.
