Thanks.. you're pullin' some great sounds there man!.. not to mention the fine playing too!.. Yours, JanetB's & Bill Martin's sound quality is most enviable to my ears.. i'm not yet able to get that same clear fullness you guys have.. i'm using a samson co1u mic & audacity.. i know Bill uses this mic, i got mine after asking him what he uses.. so is it my audacity software or my lack of engineering skills? Any tips on how to get my sound up there with you guys!?..:0)

I agree with everyone, your recordings have a pro-level engineering to them that I'm way envious of.

But they still wouldn't be much without that playing. So graceful and tasteful. Clean and uncluttered with just enough adventure tucked in to keep it really compelling.

Thanks Mark. Always encouraging. Listening to it again this morning compared to the other ones, I feel like I did it way too slow...I didn't feel so slow last night...haha..oh well.

Sid, I really don't know a ton about engineering. I think having a good mic, a decent pre-amp/interface (mbox, etc), and a good program (i use Reason made by Propellerhead, but also pro tools, garage band, logic, etc) really go a long way. I don't do much with eq's (mainly b/c I don't know what I'm doing). I put on a slight touch of reverb and if I have guitar and banjo, I pan them a little bit to each side, and that's about it. I use a compressor to keep levels from peaking, but not too much of it b/c you still want it to sound natural.

Travis Wright does it right again; this is some really sublime music.
