Turlough O'Carolan (1670 - 1738) was influenced by Italian composers and this is one of his best such tunes.

You're really kind. If you listen to DrBob's version on BHO, he's been doing it for years, clawhammer style, and plays it like he really knows it. I'm just learning it and now know the notes. I'd like to be able to do it chordally some day.
