A great Dock Boggs tune, 3 bare fingers and a RB250 clone...love this song, very idiosyncratic yet so awesome...

I really like this tune, and love your old time 3-finger playing.

Blanham-thanks, it took me a while to get the timing right, it doesn't really sound like it, but when you listen to Doc's version it's not a sqaured off tune...Mike Seeger does a great version (on Doc's old ball bearing even!), but he does square it off a bit, I like Doc's uneven version...your version of Darling Cory inspired me to get back into old time 2 and 3 finger styles, have really been enjoying it...thanks again for the comments!

Yeah, I like your "unsquared" version better than MSeeger's. What you're doing made me consider what Dock might have sounded like had he recorded Davenport at his first recording session, when he played a little wilder than his second Lonsome Ace session.

I heard Mike play this tune live at a concert once, but alas, he was playing it on his open back Newman banjo. It actually sounded great, but a little square. And he told a Dock Boggs story in "talking blues style" as he played the tune!

Wow, nice to hear this tonight. Much like Dead Man's Piece in one part.

Thanks for the kind words Janet, very much appreciated! I'm a sucker for this family of tunes...
