This is my memory of the song as done by the Deseret String Band. I think there is another verse.

Very nice Erich. I have heard the song on this side of the pond but people often seem to feel a need to play it at a gallop and shout the words out so they can be heard on the other side of the moon.

Thanks. I've remembered that this was a TOTW over on the fiddle hangout a while back, and they list lyrics including the verse that I had not remembered.
When I was a younger man,
Come and hear my story
Sang and danced the whole night long
Came home with the girls in the morning
