HI ROBERT, Great pickin'. I am curious about how to use the Garage band. I have it on a Mac 10.4 and can't find instructions simple enough to understand. ( I'm only a masters level college grad. That may be the problem. ) Any ides? on

Hey, I'm a master level guy too ;-), and I had my daughter help me get started on the Garage Band; it isn't very "User Friendly" and I really haven't gone to Mac's tutorials to help me know more about it; I think it has alot of potential, but I haven't taken the time to really get facile on how to use it well; finally, I decided to buy an MP3 recorder; it's a TASCAM DR-03 recorder with two built in stereo mikes and it does a really nice job on my recordings; much easier than the Garage Band; but of course, no accompaniment. I also have the Band-in-a-Box program with the Bluegrass Soloist component which is a really a good program but not real easy to use either. I purchased that from the Janet Davis Instrument website. Oh, I think I bought the DR-03 from Elderly Instruments in Michigan. It was on sail for around $75.00 a few weeks ago. There is a new one out now, the DR-08 but I think it's around $200 bucks.
I'm afraid I can't help you much re: the Garage Band; after my daughter helped me get started on it, as you know, I recorded several times with it and posted on my blog but I haven't done anymore since I got the DR-03. It's just so much easier. You might be able to purchase that on Amazon.com; they have just about every kind of recorder; or check with Elderly Instruments. Thanks for the compliment; I'm pleased you like my pickin'....being almost 74 years old, I don't think I'm quite as good on my timing as I used to be...but I'm lucky to not have any arthritis in my fingers yet....;-) I hope this helps you a little re: recording.
